Desiree Williams is a school psychologist and mother of her very own brilliant brown baby! Holding a certification in trauma informed children's yoga and a Master of Arts in school psychology, Desiree has a passion for educating children on social emotional and behavioral skills that will help them reach their highest potentials!
Brilliant Brown Babies was created when the founder's son was born. As a new mother, Desiree searched for books that would teach her son to have pride in his Black heritage in a colorful, engaging and age appropriate way. At the time she could not find any books that told this story so she decided to create her own! Since her first book Brilliant Brown Babies has grown into a company that is grounded in teaching important skills while celebrating diversity, providing representation and fostering brilliance along the way!
Brilliant Brown Babies uses simple pictures and text to celebrate African American culture in a way that is engaging for young children in the 0-5 age range. This book teaches Black and Brown children pride through positive representation of African American children.

In 56 colorful pages You Better Recognize! uses diverse characters, relatable themes and rhyming language, to teach children from infancy to middle school the importance of self awareness!
Honey Child is a 48 page affirmation workbook for brilliant brown babies! Each page provides a specially designed activity or coloring page that was created to help Black and Brown children develop self-worth and self-esteem!
While this book was created with Black and Brown children in mind, all children can benefit from the messages of self affirmation and learn some fun things about people who may look different than them!
